Constitutional Seminar & Initial Conference of U2V process

In Keyworth Centre, South Bank University
Keyworth Street, London SE1 6NG
on Saturday 29th March 2008 - 9 to 12 and 13 to 17

Comparison between UK's judiciary system to  the principles from a would-be constitution
by Burma's Military Regime (SPDC)

Initial Conference of U2V

process

The Seminar aims at raising awareness about the self-centered constitution emerged from so-called national convention organized by the SPDC regime. Essentially, the seminar is aimed at producing an analysis in accordance with the instruction of SASANA MOLI on the SPDC's proposed constitution. Specifically the section we are going to highlight is the relevance of the British judiciary system and how it can be compared with the system in the SPDC's projected constitution. For that reason a number of invited lawyers, barristers and legal representatives will debate the justice systems and produce a detailed analysis.

In the second part of the day, we will be discussing how we can effectively work together towards freedom and democracy in Burma. It will also be an attempt to find out how we can harmonize our work along the lines of "unity in diversity".
